Merry Christmas!
This is my yearly Christmas doodle of 2010. This year I chose my original characters from the story I am attempting to write but slapped them in an AU. This AU was suppose to be steampunk but since it was my first attempt... it failed pretty badly. So I just rolled with some random mixture of steampunk and whatever and called it good.
Some of the characters you may recognize from some previous drawings I have done but some you may not. They are in there, you just haven't met them yet. ^_^
This is a photo of the original. The scanner utterly murdered the colors I worked so hard to achieve. This still isn't half as good as the original but better than the scan. I am allowing a critique but if you are looking for minor changes in the color, it might already be that way it just wasn't captured right. Just as a fair warning.

All characters belong to me.

This picture is beautifully colored! You have great skill with colored pencils. The shading is very soft and gentle, giving the whole scene a wonderful glow and coziness. The lack of inking lines on the background figures do a good job of bringing the two main subjects forward.
One of the only things I noticed that is a little odd is the little girl's face and neck. I'm not quite sure what it is, whether her face is too short or if she doesn't have enough of a chin before her neck starts.
On the whole, I really love this picture with the wide variety of colors you used. Even the scan is good. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/>
Keep up the good work!
