Love this costume! The photo is beautiful but it just can't match how cool the cosplay's are in real life.
Did you make them yourself?
The makeup takes a good chunk of time to apply. The very first time we put the makeup on, it took us 2 1/2 hours. Second time, we got it just under 2 hours. From there it got a bit easier. For the shoot, it took us about 1 hour and 15 minutes but that was for all three. As for keeping the makeup on the face, we had thought this through many times and decided to cough up the money to get stage makeup. Stage makeup is designed to not melt off of your face but it can still smear. To help with the smearing, there is this minty spray (which horribly stings if it gets in your eye fyi) that holds the makeup on pretty well through little bumps. If you scratch your face, then it will smear no matter what.
We did made the costumes ourselves. It was even a last minute "Hey! We should so do this like two weeks before the convention!" Trust me when I say that it is a bad idea to start in that late. Kinda got us stressed out and we didn't have much time to "test" the costumes before we wore them at the con. Thankfully, it all worked out.
Trust me, I know how you feel not being prepared, I was also 2 weeks before the convention like: I'M GONNA BE A WATERBENDER! I have no pattern and I can't sew but I'm gonna do it!
Thank heaven for grandmothers xD
Do you do commissions on cosplay's?
I have considered doing commissions on cosplay. I did do one last year for my cousin's boyfriend. I had fun with that but I am still figuring out some things and I don't know how much I'd charge but I have considered it.
Well if you do ever decide to do commissions, I would love to order something
